Mrs D Metcalfe is the school’s Designated Senior Leader (DSL) for safeguarding. All safeguarding concerns are to be referred to Mrs Metcalfe the Headteacher and the Deputy DSL in her absence

Mrs L Bidder is the School Mental Health Lead

Mr J Bidder is the Governors with responsibility for safeguarding

Mrs D Metcalfe is the school Data Protection Officer and can be contacted through the school office

The school has a whistle Blowing Policy and this stated that if you have a safeguarding concern about the DSL the Local Authority or NSPCC should be contacted

Operation Encompass

There are currently no procedures for reporting Domestic Abuse incidents to schools which means that our children are left without the support and nurture that they need when they need it most. Operation Encompass has been created to address this so that before 9.00am on the next school day the school’s Key Adult will be informed that the child or young person has been involved, heard or witnessed a domestic incident. This knowledge, given to schools through Operation Encompass, allows the provision of immediate early intervention through silent or overt support dependent upon the needs and wishes of the child.

The Key Adult for Whittle-le-Woods CE Primary is Mrs Metcalfe the school’s Headteacher
